An ovarian tumor refers to abnormal cell growth in the ovaries. In the initial stages, an ovarian tumor does not cause any noticeable symptoms. Some of the symptoms of ovarian tumors include abdominal bloating, weight loss, weakness, back pain, constipation, and the frequent need to urinate. An ovarian tumor develops when the cells in or around the ovaries undergo changes in the DNA. The type of cell where the tumor begins determines the type of ovarian tumor, and there are different types of ovarian tumor.
