Partial prothrombin time is a test to measure clotting anomalies in the blood. It is usually measured in seconds and if the time is abnormally prolonged one may have a bleeding disorder like Von Willebrand disease, hemophilia, liver diseases, vitamin K deficiency, or autoimmune diseases that affect the clotting of blood.
