The common causes are excessive gum chewing, frequent nose-blowing, temporomandibular joint syndrome, and increased levels of estrogen in the body. It is managed by keeping the body hydrated, and using nasal sprays helps in resolving it. Surgically, it is managed by placing a tympanostomy tube.
