Pinworm infection is also known as enterobiasis. Pinworm infection occurs in adults due to accidental intake of pinworm eggs. It is taken through contaminated food and water. After swallowing, these eggs can hatch inside the intestine and matures, forming adult worms. The common symptoms are itching around the anus, stomach pain, nausea, restlessness, and difficulty sleeping. It is managed by taking anti-parasite medications.
