Medical Conditions - Platelet Count

Platelets are small cells responsible for the blood to clot and stop bleeding from a wound. They range from 150,000 to 450,000 platelets per microliter of blood. Increased platelet count results in a condition called thrombocytosis, and a reduced amount of platelet count is called thrombocytopenia. They are diagnosed using a complete blood count.
