Preeclampsia is a pregnancy complication in which the pregnant woman has high blood pressure, kidney damage (high protein levels in urine), and other organ damage signs. The cause is not fully known, but there is an issue with placental development due to problems in their blood supply. Some women with this condition may experience complications during pregnancy that may be life-threatening to the mother and the baby.
