Proteinemia is a condition presenting with protein in the blood. Hypoproteinemia is a condition with a low level of protein in the blood. Nephrotic syndrome, liver disease, and sepsis can cause hypoproteinemia. High protein in the blood is called hyperproteinemia. The common causes are amyloidosis, hepatitis infection, and multiple myeloma.
