Medical Conditions - Rectal Temperature

For children younger than 3 years, rectal temperature is a gold standard to check for temperature changes in the body. If the rectal temperature increases to 38 degrees Celcius, it is considered a fever. If the baby is immunocompromised, this type of temperature measuring system is not recommended as it can cause bacterial infestation.
