Medical Conditions - Retinal Tears

Retinal tears refer to the break or tear that occurs in the light-sensitive layer of the retina. The symptoms of a retinal tear include blurred vision, flashes of light, sudden onset of black spots or floaters, and may present with curtain-like shadow in the peripheral vision. This may progress to retinal detachment. It can usually be managed by laser or cryotherapy (cold therapy). Surgery is indicated in severe cases of retinal detachment.
