Overusing nasal decongestants leads to rebound nasal mucosal inflammation known as rhinitis medicamentosa or drug-induced rhinitis. Stopping the medication improves the condition. Such nasal decongestants include Oxymetazoline and Phenylephrine nasal sprays.
