Medical Conditions - Scald

Scald is the term used to describe a form of heat burn that is caused due to heated fluids. Burns are caused by contact with dry heat like fire or iron, and scald is caused by fluids like boiling water or steam. In most cases, scalds are considered to be first or second-degree burns, but in rare cases, the third-degree burn can also occur as a result of prolonged exposure. The treatment of scald is similar to that of burn and requires proper medical attention.
