Medical Conditions - Scaphoid Fracture

When one of the small bones of the wrist break, the condition is known as a scaphoid fracture. The scaphoid bone is a carpal bone present just above the radius, and on the side of the thumb. The scaphoid bone is crucial for regulating motion and stability in the wrist. A scaphoid fracture may take a longer time to heal as compared to other fractures because of the low blood supply in the region; therefore, the fracture is also prone to complications.
