Medical Conditions - Scurvy

It is a serious disease caused by a deficiency of vitamin C or ascorbic acid. The signs and symptoms are hemorrhage, hyperkeratosis, hypochondriasis, and hematologic abnormalities. The treatment includes vitamin C supplements in the dose of 1 to 2 grams (g) per day for 2 to 3 days, 500 milligrams (mg) for the next 7 days, followed by 100 mg for 1 to 3 months.
