Soft tissue injuries are damage caused to the muscles, ligaments, and tendons present in the body. It is caused due to sprain, strain, contusion, or overuse of a particular part of the body. Taking rest, applying ice, compression, and elevation (RICE) method is the effective way to treat acute soft tissue injuries such as bruises and sprains. Injections, splinting, and physical therapy are helpful in severe cases.
