It represents the tongue having characteristics such as small bumps on the tongue, white or red coloured patches, or lifted regions, pain, swelling, and burning sensation. The causes include oral thrush, fungal infections such as syphilis, canker sores, food allergies, smoking tobacco, and acid reflux. It is treated by using antibiotics, antifungal drugs, maintaining oral hygiene, and vitamin supplements.
