Medical Conditions - Spinal Fusion

Spinal fusion is a surgical intervention that permanently joins two or more vertebrae in the spine, removing mobility between them. Spinal fusion uses procedures that replicate the natural healing process of fractured bones.  During spinal fusion, the surgeon inserts bone or a bone substitute (metal plates, screws, or rods) into the gap between two spinal vertebrae. Spinal fusion is performed during - spinal deformities, instability or weakening of the spine,  and herniated disc.
