Spinal injury is any injury that occurs in the spinal cord or to the nerves at the end of the spinal canal. It causes loss of movement, altered sensations, loss of bowel or bladder control, loss of sensation, weakness, numbness, etc. Vertebrae, ligament, or disc damage and trauma may result in spinal injury. Immobilization of the spine, medication, surgery and rehabilitation are the treatments for spinal injury.
