Squamous papilloma is an overgrowth of the soft tissue associated with human papillomavirus infection (HPV). These papillomae arise from the stratified squamous epithelium of the lip, skin, oral cavity, tongue, pharynx, esophagus, larynx, vagina, cervix, or anal canal. It is rarely reported and is uncommonly located on the uvula.
