Striae commonly referred to as stretch marks, are irregular skin areas that appear as lines, bands, or stripes. They mainly occur due to rapid weight gain and are commonly seen in pregnancy, puberty, and obese individuals or may be associated with certain medical conditions like Cushing disease. The common sites are the thighs, hips, abdomen, buttocks, axilla, lower back, and breast region.
