Submandibular gland inflammation, also known as submandibular sialadenitis, is an inflammatory condition caused by salivary stasis that leads to the growth of bacteria in the oral cavity. Symptoms of submandibular gland inflammation include pain while eating, swelling in the cheek and neck region, reduced salivary flow, and fever. Conservative treatment approaches include hydration, warm compress, and sialogogues.
