Medical Conditions - Temporal Arteritis

Temporal arteritis or giant cell arteritis is an autoimmune condition characterized by the inflammation of the temporal arteries (blood vessels around the scalp). The symptoms include headaches, fever, jaw pain, fatigue, and vision loss. Although there is currently no cure, the symptoms are managed with the help of high-dose steroids. The treatment should begin as soon as possible to prevent serious complications.
