Timolol is a medication that is used in the treatment of ocular hypertension. This is nothing but an increase in the level of pressure inside the eye due to glaucoma. This medicine is used topically and belongs to a drug group called beta-adrenoceptor blockers. This medicine works by reducing the fluid level within the eye and is not advised for people who have asthma or other breathing disorders. In some cases, timolol is used after a heart attack to reduce the chance of death or a second attack.
