Medical Conditions - Torsion

Twisting of the spermatic cord leads to testicular torsion. Torsion exceeding 24 hours causes testicular infarcts. Testicular torsion is characterized by sudden abrupt testicular pain, pain in the abdomen and groin, nausea, and vomiting. Twisting of the fallopian tube with secondary blood flow obstruction is known as fallopian tube torsion. It involves the fallopian tube and an ipsilateral ovary. It is characterized by severe lower abdominal pain and increased urinary frequency.
