Tricuspid valve regurgitation occurs when the valve flap fails to close properly making the blood flow backward. It is usually genetic but may be caused due to other health conditions as well. Infections such as rheumatic fever or infective endocarditis can also cause this condition. Severe tricuspid regurgitation can cause throbbing in the neck veins and abnormal heart rhythm.
