Medical Conditions - Tuberculomas

Tuberculomas are a specific type of lesion or mass that can develop in various organs of the body, most commonly in the brain. They are caused by the reactivation of latent tuberculosis infection and are made up of scar tissue, immune cells, and tuberculous bacteria. Long-lasting asymptomatic, tuberculomas might develop symptoms once they are large enough to put strain on nearby structures. Headaches, seizures, or neurological impairments may be among these symptoms. Anti-tuberculosis drugs are often used in combination for treatment to reduce tuberculomas and control underlying infections.
