A disorder characterized by inadequate thyroid production to meet the body's requirement is called hypothyroidism or underactive thyroid. It is manifested by tiredness, constipation, weight gain, dry skin, thinning of hair, hoarseness, muscle fatigue, hyperlipidemia, irregular menstruation, bradycardia, joint pain, increased sensitivity to cold, etc. Autoimmune disorders, thyroidectomy, radiotherapy, medications, hyperthyroidism treatment, iodine deficiency, congenital disorders, pregnancy, and pituitary disorder can cause it.
