A ureterocele is a congenital anomaly that happens when the end of the ureter entering the bladder does not develop properly. It blocks urine flow which causes swelling at the bottom of the ureter. The symptoms may include abdominal pain, back pain, flank pain, blood in the urine, and dysuria. Treatment involves antibiotics and a procedure called ureterocele puncture.
