Urrets-Zavalia syndrome is a postoperative complication of penetrating keratoplasty surgery. It is characterized by fixed dilated pupils associated with secondary glaucoma and iris atrophy. People who develop increased intraocular pressure after penetrating keratoplasty surgery are at high risk for this condition. This condition is difficult to prevent since the exact cause of the syndrome is uncertain.
