Producing persistent high-pitched vocal sounds cause a strain to the vocal cords, especially in singers, teachers, salespersons, orators, etc. This vocal strain can lead to hoarseness of voice and sore throat. Drinking plenty of water, giving rest to the voice, and preventing medication-induced throat dryness by switching them are ways to relieve vocal strain.
