Medical Conditions - Von Willebrand Disease

Von Willebrand disease is a bleeding disorder presenting with low levels of von Willebrand factor. It is a protein that helps in blood clot formation. It is often inherited, and in some cases, it develops later in life. There is excessive bleeding after an injury or surgery, and nosebleeds occur for more than ten minutes, heavy menstrual bleeding, blood in urine, and bruising. This condition is managed by taking Desmopressin. It is either taken as an injection or nasal spray.
