Warfarin is an anticoagulant drug that is used in the prevention and treatment of blood clot formation. It is taken orally and is a prescription drug. Warfarin is employed to decrease the chances of heart attack or stroke, which may result in death. In addition, it is also used in atrial fibrillation, heart valve replacement, pulmonary embolism, or deep vein thrombosis to prevent and treat blood clots. Abnormal or excessive bleeding is the most common adverse effect of taking Warfarin.
