Wegener's granulomatosis is a rare disorder that causes inflammation in the blood vessels. It mainly affects the nose, sinuses, throat, lungs, and kidneys. This results in slow blood flow to these organs. The common signs and symptoms include pus-like crusty drainage from the nose with stuffiness, sinus infections, nosebleeds, coughing with blood, fever, fatigue, and shortness of breath. The cause is unknown, and the treatment involves immunosuppressive drugs and plasma exchange (plasmapheresis).
