Medical Conditions - Wire Braces

Wired braces are used in fixed orthodontic treatment for the correction of dental malocclusion. Archwires, molar bands, ligature wires, brackets, elastics, separators, coils, hooks, tubes, etc., are some of the components of braces. Braces move the teeth in the desired position as determined by an orthodontist. The constant pressure on the teeth by the braces leads to bone resorption on one and formation on the other side, thereby shifting the teeth' position. The archwires tend to lose pressure, or they become loose with the gradual change in the position of the teeth. Hence regular intervals of tightening of the archwires with an orthodontist are necessary.
