How to treat acne scars and improve skin texture?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have many small dots inside my skin on my face. I used to have moderate acne, but all the bumps went away, but you can see the pimples (not feel). All the pimples you could feel disappeared, but small red dots appeared everywhere, and a kind of scarring stayed.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

1. I have seen your query and concern and examined your picture (attachments removed for patient's identity protection).

2. Acne vulgaris is a common skin problem in adolescents and adults. It involves pilosebaceous follicles or oil glands and is therefore seen to involve areas where oil glands are dense, like the face, chest, back, and upper arms are common sites involvement.

3. In your case looks like grade 1 to grade 2 acne only otherwise good part in your case is your facial skin color is normal, and you have very few spots

4. You can start using Faceclin gel (Clindamycin topical 1%), Nicotinamide (4% w/w)) during daytime over pimples and Microbenz 3.5 % gel in night hours over the whole face for around two to three months.

5. To clean your face, use Facecare face wash twice daily.

6. You have to do certain dietary restrictions like not taking oily spicy food, junk food, milk products and nonvegetarian foods using lots of water which hydrates your skin.

Thank you.
