How can I manage stress?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am getting stressed too much as my son's exams are going on. I also get severe pain in my neck and lower back region. Is this due to any psychological stress?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query.

You may have pain due to the stress of your son's exam and your work pressure. There is non-pharmacological management for it. So, I suggest you follow the guidelines mentioned below to deal with it. It will help you.

1. You should do exercises daily for 30 to 45 minutes.

2. You should do meditation for 20 minutes daily.

3. You should eat healthy home-cooked foods and avoid junk foods.

4. You must drink enough water.

5. You should spend quality time with friends and family daily.

6. You should spend time on creative hobbies like reading good books, writing journals, painting, drawing, and learning new skills.

7. You should get enough sleep.

8. You must avoid tobacco, alcohol, or any substance abuse.

9. Take a capsule of Fluoxetine (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) 20 mg daily in the morning after breakfast.

Kindly consult a specialist, talk with them, and take medications with their consent.

Hope it helps.

Thanks and regards.
