Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a 30-year-old male. I would like to seek guidance on establishing an effective daily skincare routine. What are the key skincare products I should incorporate into my routine? Can you provide recommendations for selecting the right sunscreen and how to incorporate it into my daily routine? If I have sensitive skin, I would like to know how to care for it and choose products that are gentle and non-irritating. I am interested in learning about anti-aging skincare strategies and treatments to maintain healthy and youthful-looking skin as I age.
Thank you.
Hello
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I can understand your concern.
There are a few general guidelines you could follow, as mentioned below:-
1. Regular washing of the face with a non-synthetic, herbal face wash (aloe vera, tea tree oil, turmeric, and more) and bathing with a mild, organic soap (containing aloe vera and turmeric). Aloe vera is an herbal moisturizer, and turmeric is an antiseptic.
2. Hair- Use milder shampoos that clean dandruff and yet are herbal ingredients. Try avoiding chemical shampoos; they are corrosive and do not heal the dandruff. If there is a diagnosed fungal infection or psoriasis as the cause, zinc pyrite and Ketoconazole-based shampoos can be used under a dermatologist's advice and consultation.
3. Hydration- Internal- consuming three to four liters per day and external by regular night and also post bath moisturization.
4. Sun protection - UV (ultraviolet) rays from the sun can be damaging to sensitive skin. Whenever you visit beaches and have long sun exposure during the daytime at work and on holidays, use an SPF (sun protection factor) based sunscreen; the strength (SPF-30 to 60) may range from geographic to local situations. Please take the advice of a dermatologist before starting to use it.
5. Allergen test- It is advisable to undergo total allergen sensitivity tests at a nearby accredited laboratory to understand the possible allergenic agents specific to you and future prevention and avoidance in most situations. include food allergens such as milk, seafood, and others to skin allergens such as dust, pollen, and arthropods.
6. Systemic illnesses- Rule out systemic illnesses such as diabetes mellitus, immunological diseases, liver and kidney function diseases, and systemic allergies.
I hope you have got ideas on how to manage sensitive skin and body conditions.
The Probable causes:
The probable causes are hypersensitivity and sensitivity.
Investigations to be done:
The investigations to be conducted include an allergen sensitivity test and various blood tests such as HbA1c (glycated hemoglobin), FBS (free blood sugar), complete blood picture (CBP), renal function tests (RFTs), and liver function tests (LFTs).
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
Regards.
