Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am using antidepressant pills. Episod (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) 50 milligrams half tablet every day. I am planning to have eye laser surgery.

Thank you.

Hi,

I am glad you chose icliniq for your medical-related queries.

I understand your concern and will try to help you with it.

I am sure your treatment is for a short duration. Kindly finish it, then plan eye surgery. Because it is an elective surgery and not an emergency one, also, postoperatively you will have to take good care, and recovery takes a bit longer in eye surgery, where anxiety and panic should not find a way. Do wait for your treatment completion and then go for it.

Thank you for consulting me.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

Using antidepressant pills for the last five years. Am I suitable for eye surgery or not? Are there any complications from using antidepressants when undergoing it?
