How to keep asthma under control in the initial stage at 35?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 35-year-old female. Recently, I started having a common cold, shortness of breath, wheezing, and chest tightness. When I consulted the doctor, I was diagnosed with the initial stage of asthma. I would like to know how this asthma becomes an uncontrollable disease in some patients, because my grandfather passed away due to uncontrolled asthma. Please suggest some healthy ways to manage and prevent the development of asthma.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

Asthma is a chronic condition where the airways become inflamed and narrow, causing breathing difficulties like coughing and wheezing. It can worsen due to triggers like allergens, poor medication use, and other health conditions. To manage asthma, take prescribed medications, avoid triggers, exercise regularly, and eat a healthy diet. Vaccines, like the flu and pneumonia vaccines, can help protect your respiratory health.

Please let me know if there is anything else that I can help you with.

Thank you.
