Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I finished my 21-day pill pack yesterday, and I want to have intercourse today. But I will not be starting a new pill pack till after seven days as I will be implanting an IUD. Am I safe this whole week? Are there chances of pregnancy? Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query. I read your query and understood your concern.

In a menstrual cycle of 28 days, 14 days are safe, counting from day one, seven days before, and seven days after your period. You are on a 21-day pill, you finished the pack, and now it is your 27th day of period, so, if you count from day one, it is a safe day.

I hope my advice will be helpful. Feel free to reach out if you have any further queries.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

Is it alright if I do not start a new pack in seven days? Practically will I still be safe during these seven-day pill-free week? Kindly suggest.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

You start from the fifth, and not on the seventh day.

Thank you.
