Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

The bone in my hand got displaced. I went to the doctor, and he put a bandage on my hand. When I opened the bandage again after six days, my hand started to hurt.

Kindly help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Suppose you have experienced the displacement of a bone in your hand and received initial medical care. In that case, following up with your healthcare provider as soon as possible is crucial to ensure proper healing and management of the injury. Failure to seek prompt medical attention for an open fracture (where the bone has broken through the skin) can increase the risk of infection, nerve damage, and other complications. If you cannot visit your healthcare provider due to unforeseen circumstances, you should contact them as soon as possible to discuss alternative options for follow-up care. They can guide you in managing your symptoms at home, such as elevating the affected limb, applying ice, and taking over-the-counter pain medication. In the meantime, keeping the affected area clean and covered with a sterile dressing is essential to prevent infection. Avoid putting any pressure on the injured area and avoid any activities that may cause further injury. If you experience any signs of infection, such as fever, redness, swelling, or drainage from the wound, seek medical attention immediately. Remember, it is always better to err on the side of caution regarding medical emergencies. If you are unsure how to manage your injury or if your symptoms worsen, it is essential to seek medical attention promptly.

I hope this information will help you.

Thanks.
