Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am having pain in my left breast on one side. I was given an injection for gastric pain after consulting a physician. I am concerned about the reasons behind the pain.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

There could be several reasons for unilateral pain in the breast. Some possible causes of breast pain include:

1. Hormonal changes: Breast pain is common during menstruation, pregnancy, and menopause, as hormonal fluctuations can cause the breasts to become tender and swollen.

2. Infection: A breast infection, also known as mastitis, can cause pain, swelling, and fever. This is more common in breastfeeding women, but it can occur in non-lactating women as well.

3. Cysts: Breast cysts are fluid-filled sacs that can develop in the breast tissue. They are usually benign and do not require treatment, but they can cause pain and discomfort.

4. Fibrocystic breasts: Some women have breasts that are lumpy, tender, and painful, especially before their periods. This is known as fibrocystic breasts, and it is not a cause for concern.

Kindly consult a specialist, and talk to them for a proper diagnosis and treatment plan.

I hope this information will help you.

Thank you.
