Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
My son is three months old. Since yesterday, he has been experiencing a cough and chest infection. We are giving him Cefalotet drops and nebulizing him two times a day with Ventolin.
But today he was crying all the time, and as I started massaging, he released gas, and then he stopped crying, so we realised that it was the pain due to gas. He was normal until we fed him (lactogen 1), he started crying again and kept crying for hours. Now we gave him Coligesic drops, and for some time, he is feeling better, but not completely ok.
What would you recommend? Also, I would say that his mother does nOt feed him, and we feed him lactogen.
Please help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I can understand your concern.
I am very sorry about your medical condition, and I am glad that you are paying attention to changes in your body system. But do not worry. I am here to take care of you. Regarding your child's symptoms, I believe he may have developed abdominal colic with upper chest infection. Does it stay in a cold room frequently? Any wheezing sounds when breathing? Also, I can see that you gave him Colicisept drops following improvement. Please give him the following:
Syrup cefuroxime 2.5 ml (milligrams) orally, twice daily for one week.
Syrup Hyoscine butylbromide 2.5 ml orally, twice daily for one week.
Give grape water 2.5 ml twice daily for one week.
I hope this helps.
Kindly follow up if you have more concerns.
Thank you.
