Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 28-year-old male. I have been experiencing chest pain for the past one year. I have undergone an ECG and chest X-ray twice, and the reports were normal. Recently, I had an endoscopy, which revealed erosive antral gastritis and H. pylori infection. I underwent triple therapy with medication and antacids. After two months, a stool test showed no H. pylori infection. However, I still experience chest pain, mainly on the right side of the heart and occasionally on the left side. Doctors have advised me to consult a cardiologist. What could be the reason for my chest pain, and what steps can I take to alleviate it?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

The causes of chest pain are skin, muscles, bones, organs like lungs and heart, and psychogenic (brain). Sometimes even the gall bladder can cause pain in the right side of the lower chest. If none of these causes are found then chest pain is termed non-specific chest pain which can be psychogenic or due to some undiscovered mechanisms of chest pain. I suggest you to follow a few instructions mentioned below:

  1. Take a painkiller if the pain bothers you.
  2. Have a stress test done like an exercise ECG, to see whether there are any heart issues during stress.

I hope this helps. Thank you.
