Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I would like to get a an opinion regarding the attached chest radiograph. I wish to know if there are any abnormalities like scarring.

Answered by Dr. Vivek Chail

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through your attached chest radiograph (attachment removed to protect patient identity).

Please find my observations below.

The chest x-ray is essentially normal except for slightly prominent lung markings bilaterally and especially in right lower zone. However, there is no area of patchy opacity or scarring. Prominent lung markings might be associated with a mild cough or a hyperactive airway. It is also important to keep in mind that occasionally the lung markings might also appear prominently in a normal person when seeing a digital chest x-ray like the one sent by you.

There is no fluid collection. The heart is normal in size. The bones are normal. The diaphragms are normal.

I would like to know the reason for which the chest x-ray was taken, for more detailed discussion because symptoms of the patient are important while discussing a chest X-ray. Hope this answers your question.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
