What is the treatment for chronic urticaria?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor, I am suffering from chromic urticaria from last six months. A dermatologist treated it as acute urticaria but now he cannot able to understand what is triggering it. There is no much progress in recovery. I get relief from medicines but it appears daily while exercising. I am afraid of what should i do now? I think that it started after I switched my job to new place (where they keep A/c at very low temperature) and I am used to air conditioner. Kindly help.

Thank you.

Thanks for reaching out with iCliniq. I am very sorry about your medical condition. Dont worry i am here to take care of you. Regarding your symptoms, i believe you have developed a treatment failure from the your chronic uticaria. Any hx of swelling or drug intake or change of cosmetic or soap or cold environment? i can see that low temp air condition is one of the triggers. Please do a skin snip or scrapping test and stool ova and parasite test and reply me with the result. Meanwhile please kindly take the following: 3 tab praziquantel PO at once, 1 tab hydroxyzine 25mg PO qd for 2 week , apply topical 2% cetrizine cream bid for 2 weeks If your symptoms persist , schedule another appointment for follow up via chat , phone or video consultation . Thanks for using icliniq and have a nice day.
