Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
My fiancee and I are getting married in two months. She is considering getting a birth control implant to prevent pregnancy. However, she has an important exam in one month. We are unsure whether she should get the implant now, which might affect her ability to study or wait until after the exam. If she waits, there will not be much time before the wedding to see how her body reacts to it. Additionally, her next period after the exam is scheduled for just two weeks before the wedding.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I am here to help address your concerns about the birth control implant.
The birth control implant is a very small device that is inserted into a woman’s arm to help prevent pregnancy. The procedure is minor and typically causes only slight discomfort during insertion. After the procedure, most women do not experience ongoing pain or discomfort. The implant can be inserted at any time, either before or after her exam. The only moment of discomfort is usually during the procedure itself. After that, she should feel fine.
I hope this information has helped clarify your concerns. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
Thank you and best regards.
