Is the contraceptive implant a safe birth control method?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am getting married really soon and want to have a contraceptive implant inserted. I want to ask if I can have a contraceptive implant inserted before my wedding. I have my wedding in a month, and we have agreed to use this method for the first two years. My fiancé does not live in the country, and we want to have this done before marriage. We have researched the topic of birth control, and it seems like this implant might be the best fit for me.

Please advise.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Regarding your question, I approve the insertion of an IUCD (intrauterine contraceptive device), as it may be suitable for two years without pregnancy. Additionally, it is worth noting that the IUCD implant can last up to ten years once inserted.

I hope this information is helpful.

Thank you.
