What are the causes and treatment for delayed periods?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello Doctor,

I am 34 years old and my periods have been delayed for the past one and a half months. I also experienced delayed periods two years back. I am concerned if these are the signs of menopause and the reason behind it. Kindly suggest.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I would like to tell you that you cannot have menopause at such a young age of 34 years. Stress can cause delayed periods. It plays a major role in both delayed periods and early periods. Your delayed periods can be probably stress-related.

I advise you to follow the below-mentioned suggestions:

  1. Consume a healthy diet.
  2. Exercise for at least 20 minutes a day.
  3. Sleep for eight hours a day.
  4. Practice meditation if you are working in a very stressful environment.

I hope this information will help you.

Thank you.
