Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have demodex blepharitis which is causing rosacea. I am treating the rosacea with azelaic acid and blepharitis with tea tree wipes.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Demodex blepharitis is a condition caused by an overgrowth of tiny mites called Demodex on the eyelids. It can lead to symptoms such as itchiness, redness, crusty eyelashes, and irritation. Rosacea is a chronic skin condition characterized by facial redness, flushing, and sometimes pimples or bumps. Azelaic acid is a topical medication commonly used to treat rosacea. It has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties that may help reduce inflammation and control the growth of bacteria associated with rosacea. Tea tree oil wipes, which have antifungal and antibacterial properties, are sometimes used to cleanse the eyelids and manage Demodex blepharitis. However, it is important to use them under the guidance of a healthcare professional, as tea tree oil can be irritating if not used properly. It is always best to consult with your dermatologist or ophthalmologist for a proper diagnosis and individualized treatment plan. They can assess your symptoms, provide accurate advice, and recommend the most suitable treatment options for your specific condition. Remember to follow the recommended dosage and usage instructions provided by your healthcare provider and report any concerns or side effects you may experience during treatment.

I hope this helps.
