Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have a few spots like the ones attached in the photos on both hands. They are itchy sometimes but not very itchy, and most times, they are just inactive. I use Halovate cream, and they go away, but one to two spots show up randomly, maybe somewhere else on the palm or back of the hand, maybe a week later. Online information about palm spots talks about serious diseases like syphilis and psoriasis, so I was worried after checking the internet.

Kindly help.

Hello,

I have read your query and reviewed image you provided (attachment removed to protect the patient’s identity). To come to a diagnosis can you answer few questions for me:

  1. Since how long have you been having this issue?
  2. Does anyone in your family have the same problem?
  3. Is the itching worse at night?
  4. Do you have similar spots anywhere else on your body?

During this period, you should follow these instructions:

  1. Apply Momate-F a combination of Mometasone and Fusidic acid) cream on the affected area at night.
  2. Use any moisturizing lotion twice a day.
  3. Take only one dose of tablet Ivermectin 12 mg.

Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with them, and take the medicines with their consent. Do not worry; it is not syphilis or psoriasis.

I hope this has helped you. Please feel free to reach me again, in case of further queries.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for your prompt reply.

The issue has been there for maybe two to three months, where spots come and go. No one else is facing this issue. The itching is very minimal and occurs only sometimes, not itching much even when it does. There is no specific time when it happens. I have one tiny spot near the sole of my foot, but it is almost gone.

Hello,

Glad to have you back!

I am here to help you get the best medical advice.

I understand your concern.

If that is the case, then it might just be dermatitis happening secondary to some allergen. Use any mild soap and moisturize your hands as many times as possible. Apply Momate-F (a combination of Mometasone and Fusidic acid) cream twice a day on the spots. Follow up after 15 days.

You can always come back and reach me at icliniq.com.

Thank you for consulting me.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
